CLIMACTIC DATA :

The climate of Al Haouz is semi-arid; its main characteristics are as follows:

* Poor and Irregular pluviometry (240 mm / an ).

· Very high summer temperatures (maximum average : 37,7) , and low winter temperatures (minimum average 4,9) .

* Poor hygrometry of air (40% average in summer ) .

WATER RESOURCES

Surface water resources

The perimeter of Al Haouz is traversed by a number of water courses regularized by three big dams (Lalla Takerkoust Dam , Moulay Youssef Dam and Moulay El Hassan Dam). A supplementary quantity of 245 Millions m3 of water is equally reserved and brought to the area from Bin El Ouidane Dam(transferred towards the perimeter of the Downstream Tassaout via the T2 Canal); that is an overall annual quantity for irrigation of 940 Million m3 [cf. map of hydro-agricultural developments ]

Underground water resources

The Haouz region has a great potential of underground water resources, the yearly mobilized volume of which is estimated at 238 millions m3 of which 173 Mm3 in the central Haouz and 65 Mm3 in the Upstream Tessaout.

Authorization of water taking by means of underground water pumping :

he use of underground water resources is subject to a pumping authorization to be issued by ORMVA of Al Haouz; the necessary documents to produce are :

1/ The pumping authorization addressed to the Director of ORMVAH

2/ Location plan of the pumping zone at 1/50.000th .

3/ Parceling map in four copies drawn up by a certified topographer.

4/ Title deeds and tenure certificate .

5/ Copy of ID .
