Accordign to the 1994 census, the population of the region of Marrakech Tensift Al Haouz was 2.724.204 inhabitants , i.e. 10% of the total population of the country approximating 26.073.717 inhabitants. The population of the region constitutes 65 % of country dwellers concentrated mainly in the Provinces of El Kélaâ, Al Haouz, and Essaouira which regroup more than 74% of the coutry population of the region. The urban population representing 35 % of the total population is concentrated in the Wilaya of Marrakech, with 71%.
